In the guise of two simple folk tales inspired by the natural beauty surrounding the peaceful ashram of Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama in Rishikesh, North India, Nandini evokes the meaning of life. In the first story, “Kiss of the Divine” two unlikely soul mates, a cow and an egret, are brought together by fate near the sacred River Ganges. In the second, “Call of the Divine” we are taken on an improbable and fantastical journey in the company of nine Indian birds intent on finding their hearts’ desire.

These stories lead the characters to recognise Truth and in so doing evince a range of emotions and aspirations.
